Prior to transitioning to IP Law, Caroline conducted doctoral research in chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. Her Ph.D. studies focused on the design of bimetallic complexes for organic catalysis, and the application of statistical modeling and high-throughput experimentation to reaction optimization in collaboration with pharmaceutical industry partners. While pursuing her undergraduate chemistry degree at Princeton University under the supervision of David W. C. MacMillan, she gained experience in the field of metallaphotoredox catalysis. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate studies, Caroline developed a passion for teaching at all levels.
Outside of work, Caroline has gained extensive experience in animal welfare, behavior, and rehabilitation. Volunteering as a foster parent for multiple shelters initiated her endeavors to become professionally certified in animal training, using positive reinforcement and applied behavior analysis. Amongst her certifications, Caroline has completed the Fear-Free – Shelter program, the CPDT-KA examination, the KPA-CTP certification.
